An eye for the wild is a Rehabilitation Center for Big and small wild animals. Our aim is to release Animals back into the wild once they are fit and healthy again. We are a Non profit organization that relies on volunteers and our daily tours to support our animals and their needs. We offer school tours everyday of the week Monday - Friday to teach our children the importance of wildlife conservation. Our aim at An Eye For The Wild is to conserve our wildlife and spread awareness of their importance in and around our environment. An Eye for the Wild began with Noelle — her vision, her voice, her refusal to look away from suffering, and her deep, instinctive knowing of animals and the land. She is the force behind it all: the one who sees what needs to be done, speaks for those without voices, and initiates the work that becomes protection, healing, and change. Alan is the silent strength that makes that vision possible. He does not seek the spotlight — he builds it. From constructing enclosures, to clearing paths, to picking the stumps that must be removed so the work can move forward, Alan shows up in action, not words. He listens, he trusts Noelle’s instinct, and he turns her needs into reality with steady hands and unwavering commitment. Together, their roles are not equal in expression, but perfectly aligned in purpose. Noelle leads from the front — fiercely, intuitively, unapologetically. Alan stands beside and behind her — grounding, enabling, and protecting the space that allows her to be fully herself. An Eye for the Wild exists because one woman dared to begin — and one man chose, every day, to support her becoming.
Echoe is the right-hand person in every sense. As the founder's eldest daughter, she stands firm, supporting the work wherever and whenever it’s needed. There is no such thing as “time off” for either of us — she is involved around the clock and can always be relied upon. She plays a central role in supporting our volunteers, ensuring they are cared for, well-fed, organised, and settled. Echoe is the owner and heart behind Africa Echoes, our coffee shop on Eye for the Wild, and she is also responsible for preparing the delicious meals provided to our volunteers. Beyond this, Echoe assists with animal care and supports the daily running of the property. This includes lodge checks, where she ensures that once guests check out, each lodge is fully checked, reset, and brought back up to standard and ready for the next guest. Alongside this, she helps wherever needed — from bookings, logistics, and problem-solving. If something needs doing, Echoe is there. Her adaptability, dedication, and willingness to step in at any moment make her an indispensable part of everything we do.
Charles is the cornerstone of An Eye for the Wild. As our longest-standing team member, he has been part of our family since before the sanctuary even opened. There’s truly nothing he can’t do—electrical work, plumbing, fixing boreholes, or tending to any problem that comes up on the farm. A leaking pipe or a faulty plug? Charles is the one we call. But his skills go far beyond practical fixes. Charles is our 40-head cattle master, and he has an incredible intuition with all our animals. He can spot a struggling animal from a distance, read their needs, and respond with gentle, skilled care. His calm, wise presence keeps both animals and team members reassured. Kind, dependable, and endlessly capable, Charles is more than just a worker—he is a vital, irreplaceable part of the An Eye for the Wild family. Our sanctuary thrives because of his dedication, wisdom, and heart.
Tinashe is the heart and steady compass of our guiding team. As Head Guide, he brings an exceptional depth of bush knowledge, quiet leadership, and an intuitive connection to the wild. His tracking skills, understanding of animal behaviour, and deep respect for the land turn every walk and encounter into a meaningful experience. What truly sets Tinashe apart is the way he guides — with humility, patience, and an eye for the unseen. He doesn’t just show you the bush; he teaches you how to listen to it. Safety, awareness, and reverence for wildlife are always at the centre of his work, making guests feel both grounded and inspired. Peter carries one of the most delicate responsibilities in conservation — walking and safeguarding one of Africa’s most vulnerable and misunderstood animals, the pangolin. As our Pangolin Walker, he works with extraordinary patience, gentleness, and awareness, ensuring each step is guided by the animal’s needs, not human pace. His role requires deep attentiveness, calm energy, and an ability to read the smallest cues — qualities Peter embodies naturally. He moves quietly alongside the pangolin, protecting it from harm while allowing it the freedom to forage, explore, and simply be wild. Peter’s work is a reminder that true conservation is not loud or forceful, but careful, respectful, and rooted in trust. Through @aneyeforthewild, his dedication helps shine a light on the quiet guardianship needed to give endangered species a fighting chance.
Cynthia is the heart and soul of our lodges at An Eye for the Wild. As our head of the lodge, she ensures everything runs smoothly, keeping the lodges clean, welcoming, and well-maintained. But her care extends far beyond the lodges—she helps with feeding and managing our more domesticated animals, and she is always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. Cynthia’s nurturing spirit shines in her work with our wild charges too. She lovingly watches over our “Eyes of the Wild” baby, Azeggai keeping him in check and ensuring he is safe, despite his spirited nature. Calm, reliable, and endlessly caring, Cynthia is the steady presence that keeps our sanctuary functioning with warmth and harmony. Truly our queen mother, Cynthia’s dedication touches every corner of An Eye for the Wild, and we couldn’t do it without her.
Talana manages bookings and basic administration for An Eye for the Wild. She is the main contact point for guests and volunteers, handling schedules, confirmations, and payment follow-ups. She also supports volunteers by coordinating indemnity forms, assisting with travel logistics such as flights, passports, banking details, and helping resolve practical issues when they arise. Talana helps ensure volunteers are settled and that any concerns are communicated and addressed. For bookings, enquiries, and volunteer administration, Talana is the point of contact.
Enoch is truly an exceptional member of our team. His connection with our horses is remarkable—he can read them like a book, notice when they’re off colour, and respond with gentle care that puts both horse and rider at ease. Little ones, or anyone who might feel nervous around horses, find an instant friend in him—his calm, patient manner makes every encounter safe and enjoyable. But Enoch’s talents don’t stop with the horses. He’s dedicated, hardworking, and willing to go above and beyond, often working after hours to ensure our animals are cared for. From helping on school tours to assisting anywhere around the sanctuary, there’s truly nothing he won’t do to support our mission. Wise, skilled, and deeply compassionate, Enoch is not just an amazing groom—he’s an incredible person. Our horses adore him, our visitors are inspired by him, and we are endlessly grateful for the care and expertise he brings to every day at the sanctuary.
Oprah is the heart, wisdom, and backbone of An Eye for the Wild. As our oldest and longest-standing gogo, she has been a guiding presence for years—helping raise my four children, planting the first patch of lawn, and keeping the household running smoothly. At the sanctuary, Oprah’s hands and heart are everywhere. She assists with bottle-feeding our orphaned animals, keeps the house clean, manages the laundry, and ensures we all stay in line. Strict but witty, she doesn’t take nonsense from anyone, yet her love and dedication shine in everything she does. Oprah is more than just a helper—she’s a vital piece of our crazy puzzle, keeping our sanctuary grounded, orderly, and full of heart. Her wisdom, humor, and care touch every corner of our lives and the animals we love.
